KATW is a Class D towered airport — giving students real ATC radio experience from the first lesson. The traffic volume is manageable enough that a student can focus on learning without feeling overwhelmed, while still getting comfortable in controlled airspace early. Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH) — Oshkosh
KOSH is one of the most storied airports in aviation — home to EAA AirVenture and four paved runways. Also Class D, it offers a dynamic, multi-runway training environment and a vibrant aviation culture. Training at the airport where the world comes to celebrate aviation has its own energy. Like KATW, it runs a professional tower without the complexity of a major hub.
